How I snip seam intersections

This photo shows how I snip my seam intersections, but it actually shows several things.

You can see that I’ve snipped the ends of the X stitching so they don’t interfere with the ragging and I’ve backstitched across the seam to reinforce the intersection.

My snips are about 1/8 inch apart, and you can also see why I leave around 3/4 inch at each end of the block seams unsnipped.

If I snipped right to the end of the block seams those snips would be cut off when I snipped the row seams. Leaving that little section intact prevents that from happening.

But the most important thing you’ll notice?

I don’t cut off the corners.
