Starting a craft business

Good morning! it’s a fabulous warm early Summer day here in the South of New Zealand. Not too hot and not too cold.

I’m assembling some old sheets to cut up for the next tutorial and earlier I had the chance to meet (Zoom) with a couple of lovely ladies to discuss a plan to push their small business from working for a boss to working for themselves.

They wanted to meet with someone who had done it before and I’m honoured they picked me, not an anonymous person on YouTube giving the same tips as everyone else. If you think you can’t grow your hobby into at least a part time income consider this…

I’m a 62 year old woman who went from making a rag quilt to sewing and teaching full time in less than a year. I’d never seen a rag quilt in my life. My Facebook group has a little over 2K followers and less than 200 on Instagram. Pinterest and YouTube are also under 1K. IT isn’t my strong point either 😉

With those stats alone I shouldn’t have a viable business. Don’t listen to the stats, don’t listen to the naysayers, listen to your heart ❤️
