Hi everyone, it’s been a surreal few months as our family gathered to say goodbye to a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
My Dad was in his 90’s and lived a long and full life. He had been unwell in the last few years and his condition was only going to progress.
Dad chose Assisted Dying which was made legal in NZ a few years ago. He passed here in our home surrounded by this family.
Assisted Dying is a controversial subject and I will not enter into the discussion on the rights and wrongs other than to say regardless of our personal views I’m proud we supported him in his decision.
As the fog is slowing clearing I’m starting to pick up my stitches and trying to remember what I was doing when all this started. Thank you for your patience. R x
